So being Catholic and all, Lent always gets me excited for Spring and Easter and fresh start to things, kind of like New Years except with more green involved. I thought about my sacrifices for Lent and they aren't super exciting or original, however they do have meaning behind them and thats what counts right?
1. Watch my language. Yes I have the tendency to run at the mouth and very ugly words tend to slip out. Now I'm pretty relaxed about the language I use around my daughter, simply because I know she will use those words in her life one day and well it's just one of those things that I'm not super strict about. Anyway, that is my parenting style, that doesn't mean I should negatively inflict that on other people's childern. I am surronded by my friend's children all the time, and they do not see my layed back style of langauge the same way. So inappropriate words will stop tomorrow.
2. No more fast food restuarants. For two reasons 1. I rely on it way to much for my nutritional intake, and lets be honest it's not something that I should consider nutriontal in any form. 2. This will save us money and I'm all about saving money, especially over something so silly.
3. I will make a point everyday to tell both Nathan and Cecelia just how much they mean to me in anyway possible. This really isn't a sacrfice but it's something that I would like to work on anyway.
So there you have it, my small but meaningful list of things to work on during Lent.
I cannot wait for spring and easter...though at this rate we may be hiding eggs in the snow!
