So the Mister as been working a crazy amount of hours, leaving the small one and I to fend for ourselves day after day. No biggy, this is the regular around here.
So I actually wrote out my rules and pinned them to the cork board so that I was forced to stare at them on a daily bases. An amazinly enough it has made our days fly by!!
No joke, the getting dressed before breakfast is fantastic and I just feel ready to get going or not feel guilty for sitting on the couch reading.
For any stay at home mama, I think having rules that fit the season (especially if you live in the midwest) is a great idea. You see here in Iowa we have super late days where the sun will drag itself out until almost past 9 sometimes, which means putting that (almost) 2 year old down is a little tough on both of you, since you still want to be out enjoying the last of the day, plus you can't forget about the fireflys!
So lately our usually normal bedtime routine 8-8:30 has been pushed back to about 9-9:30, but we only get a good 4 months out of the year to enjoy such great weather so why waste it by sleeping through it!
On a totally other note about summer weather...what the heck is with all the storms...geez! At least they have come strong int he mornings and then clear out by mid afternoon.
Also, I have some crazy projects that I'm about to embark on as far as our home is concerned. We are renovating our mudroom/laundry room into a built-in office area and laundry room. We are going to make our porch an extended part of our house, so we can actually enjoy the porch swing! So my goal is to start the prep work for all that at the beginning of next week.I'm gunna try to be resourcful when it comes to the purchasing of anything, I'm gunna see what we have lying around and make it more useful somewhere else. We'll see how it goes?
