Oh dreams

Oh the things I dream about when I'm pregnant, they can be pretty interesting.
When I was pregnant with Cecelia a few months before she was born I had a very vivid dream that she was born looking just like her Daddy, full beard and all. It was almost terrifying.
I had been having bad heartburn and the old wives tale is the more intense your heart burn the more hair your child will be born with.

Well I woke up and told Nathan how strange it was to see this little newborn with a grown man's beard. He thought it was hilarious and told me to go back to sleep.

For those of you who are not already aware of this my daughter looks like her Daddy's twin.
Exhibit A: Same skin tone, eye shape, face shape, mouth and the Stanley nose.

Even the day she was born their profiles are almost identical.
I couldn't get over how on spot my dream was, minus the full beard (thank God).

It's crazy how feminine our daughter is but resembles her (very masculine) father to a T.
DNA is sure a funny thing.

I'm almost certain the only physical features my daughter got from me are her dimples and hair line.

So the whole point of this comparison is that last night I woke up after a very vivid dream about the birth of our son.
He was born with so much hair that it almost touched his shoulders, can you imagine? It was blond and fine but there was a lot of it!
His nose was wide like Nathan's but it was longer and more pointed like mine.
However, the thing that tripped me up the most was that in my dream it was never confirmed if he was a boy or a girl, people were so in shock by the amount of hair the baby came out with, I never heard congrats it's a boy/girl, and nobody turned him for a frontal view.
I was laying in the hospital bed laughing at Nate thinking how funny it was.
Now I doubt my son will be born with a head full of long blond hair, but it wouldn't surprise me if he had a mixture of my nose and Nate's as well as a lot of hair. However, that could just mean he will be hairy not necessarily on his head, after all he is part Italian :).

Of course before all of that happened I distinctly remember being admitted into a room and Nate sitting next to me. The doctor came in to tell me I would be for sure having the baby today. So after he left I looked at Nate and said "I don't even know what the date is today."
Nate looked at his phone and said "It's the 10th."
I responded with "The 10th that sounds like a good birthday to me."

The kicker is I'm not sure if it was August or September. Now my due date is September 2nd so August 10th is not out of the question being a second time mom and it would only be 3 weeks early, which is weird because I have been measuring 3 weeks early my past two appointments.
However, I'm not a fan of induction so September 10th isn't to crazy either it would only be a week an half late, which I would totally live with to avoid an induction.

Of course I'm taking this all with a grain of salt and laughing at most of it, but wanted to document it anyway just in case any of it actually became a reality.

So just to put things in perspective I have also had dreams that Cecelia brought home an elephant and that Nate woke up one day and decided he wanted to wear ties as a fashion statement. So like I said I probably shouldn't read to much into it, but it's still fun to think about.
I guess 8-9 more weeks and we will see what this little man looks like.
