Linus

Nate bought this blanket when he went on a hunting trip last February. It's been attached to Arlo at home ever since.

Arlo has always been our blanket baby, he loves anything soft by his face when he sleeps. Awhile ago someone said Arlo reminded him of Linus after, the Charlie Brown character that always carries his blanket around. We started calling Arlo's blanket "linus".

If he is really tired and cranky we tell him to go get his Linus and he usually runs to his room and grabs it. When he's sick, good luck getting it out of his hands.

The only rule is that we don't let Arlo take Linus outside the house unless it's for a road trip or he is taking it to stay the night at Grandma and Grandpas.

There will be a day when Linus gets forgotten and it will become very uncool to love a blanket, but being the sentimental mother that I am I will keep it for him for safe keeping.

  1. Logan has always been a blanket kid too. We used to call him Linus because of the blue blanket he used to carry around, affectionately called "Blue Blue" I thought he was getting too old for a blanket when he turned 4-5 so we told him about the 'Blanket Man' who picked up blankets that children left outside for him and gave them to babies who needed blankets. He reluctantly gave up Blue Blue and immediately attached himself to another blanket, named "Chewy" which he still sleeps with every night and will openly admit that he plans on taking it to college with him. A few months ago I broke down and explain the 'Blanket Man' fabrication to Logan, feeling guilty for lying to him I was afraid of what his reaction was going to be. First thing out of his mouth? where is my blanket?! Like you, of course I put it up for safe keeping and plan on passing it down in the future.
P.S. - the Where the Wild Things Are pillow case is absolutely bitching, that book/movie is another super special bond that Logan and I share :)
