2014 what will you bring my little family? Hopefully a lot of what you brought us in 2013!
I haven't made a New Year's Resolution since I was 21, maybe? Anyway the past few years we have made family resolutions. The past week I keep asking my family, what should our goals or motto be for 2014 as a family? C usually mentions going places, she loves to go "cruising" or what most people call road tripping.
I came up with what our big goal/motto is for the Stanley family: Less Things More Adventures!
God has blessed us with two littles that haven't met a road trip they haven't liked. I think it's about time Nate and I take advantage of this, don't you? So we have a few dates marked in the calendar and a few places we want to show our kids this year.
I'm so excited to show our kids this beautiful country we live in. There are so many things in the U.S alone that is worth showing them. Millions of people in the world will never know the simple pleasure of seeing open fields and space to take in a deep breath. I fell like this is something that we take advantage of, and I so desperately want our children to always appreciate what we have here.
So more adventures, both big and small are on the agenda for our family this year.
Also another family goal is to do a picture every week of the kids. I take hundreds of pictures of my children but I want to make sure I document them and hopefully be able to put them in a book at the end of next year. I feel everyday I pick them up after work, they are just a little bit different. I both hate and love it. Love that they are healthy and growing. Hate that I'm missing it. Especially these ages that C and Arlo are in they are always changing and I think it would be a neat experience to see it at the end of the year. I know taking the pictures wont be the hard part, it will be remembering to document it on here. I've watched others do this challenge over this past year and have looked forward to seeing their pictures each week.
So that's pretty much what we are looking forward to in the New Year. Maybe a few home improvements along the way, but mostly just trying to spend as much time together when Nate's home and showing our children the beauty in the world in every way possible.
2013 was pretty good. There was major downs, but isn't there every year, this is life after all. So many memories were made; our children have grown and learned new things. I have been blessed to have spent another year with a truly great man by my side. This year has been filled with so many heart fluttering moments. You know, those moments when you find yourself stepping back from a moment or situation and just reveling in the love that you are seeing. I want more of those moments in 2014. I don't doubt I will have them, seeing as I get to spend my days with 3 of the greatest people in the world, and of course all our friends and family that we love so much.
Happy New Year!
