This was pretty much my view for most of Sunday. I have been asking for a hammock for the past 3 Mother's Days and this year I wasn't expecting it but I asked anyway. Those things are so darn expensive, especially the nice ones. So Saturday I sent the kids off with Nate to Des Moines. Cece had come into my room early and wrote down somethings that I wanted for Sunday. This was what my list consisted of:
1. A pretty bouquet of flowers
2. A fresh raised donut with chocolate icing with my breakfast
3. Homemade cards
4. If possible a gift card to Lowes, I wanted to get some string lights and a few more plants for our front landscaping.
I'm easily pleased as you can tell, I would have been happy with just the cards but Nate had other plans I guess.
Sunday morning they kindly woke me up at 6:45am and brought me the homemade cards and Nate dragged in the hammock and they all yelled surprise! It was adorable and I was actually surprised, which is my favorite part of gift giving.
So after breakfast, which I did get my donut, Nate and Arlo set out to set up my hammock.
It was a really relaxing day spent with my favorite people! I even got my bouquet of flowers, when Arlo proceeded to hand me every dandelion and creeping charlie flower he could find in our backyard.
To all the mothers out there, no matter how you recieved your title of mother, I hope you enjoyed your day as much as I did.
