The End of Summer...We Made It!

Oh Hey!
Thought I dropped off the planet did you?
Nope!
Still here...barely!

Next week marks the start of school for both Cecelia and Arlo. This will be Arlo's first time in school everyday, ALL day. Some adjustments will need to be made on his behalf, since the boy lives for nap time and peanut butter sandwiches (we are peanut free in our school).

However, summer actually was pretty awesome and things didn't really start hitting the fan until about 2 weeks ago. I really think summer should only be about 10 weeks. Not just for parents sanity but honestly Arlo has totally forgot how to write his name.

We've been on vacation, spent countless hours building forts, the big kids and I have been in awe of all the new things Nasher has learned and we have almost completed our entire summer bucket list, with just a few items left. I told Cece it was a summer bucket list, which gives us till September 22nd, when autumn officially starts, to get everything checked off.

Swim lessons were a fail for Arlo but Cece was way over qualified for her level. This is no surprise to Nate and I. I have enjoyed letting the kids run free around our house and neighborhood and really letting them entertain themselves with what we have right at home. I decided before summer that we were not going to fill our days with stuff just to entertain the kids. We invited friends over to play and occasionally went to a park or the pool. We went on walks up to the library and enjoyed every minute of our weekends with Nate home.

With school starting also begins, dance, church and school activities. It also starts birthday season in our home. Arlo and I celebrate birthdays in August, Cecelia in September, along with our 10 year anniversary and Nash closes it out in October. I'm just going to take a deep breath and jump right in. This year Arlo gets a friend birthday party, which he has declared it's "ONLY FOR BOYS AND MOMS!"

Cece is just going to have her friend stay the night, hopefully when the boys can finally move into their room. Nash is going to have his big 1 year birthday party here at our home with friends and family.

In other big news I decided to start doing my photography as a regular thing and I have almost booked up for September and October. I'm so excited to be doing something that reflects aspects of just myself. As a Mom, and a especially for those stay at home moms, it's so easy to get caught up in just doing stuff for your kids and not ever taking the time to put yourself into something that is only for you. Photography as well as writing as always been that outlet for me. I'm thrilled to be able to work with other families in capturing their kiddos and loved ones along the way.

Hopefully, I can get back onto posting more regularly and maybe switching things up just a bit. This is my little space and I always hate when I neglect it, however, life with 3 littles tends to do that.

And here are a few snaps from our little family session in Colorado last month.

And lets be real, Nate can never be taken in public or the mountains without being a dork. Oh but I'll take him anyway he comes.
