What a Weekend!

The Stanley Family had a busy weekend!
Beginning with Friday, Nate had a bachelor party and I had a blast celebrating my dear friend Anna's 25th birthday, isn't she just a hoot!
She has that ability to stand out in a crowd, in a good way. I would say the word would be pizazz!
We had a fun time at a really good restaurant Centro in downtown.

Were we spent the better half outside of the restaurant watching Anna hit on 16 year old boys scooping the loop and waiting for our dinner. However, most of us enjoyed sipping on the best martini ever...the Orchid

YUMMY!!!

The bonus was I got to sit next to this lovely lady and chit chat, which I don't normally get to do!
(please ignore my hair, it was hotter then you know what and I couldn't take it)
Needless to say it was a much needed night out, that I enjoyed with some fun ladies.

Of course the big event for Saturday was Abe's birthday and I can't believe I don't have not one photo of the party! It was awesome, and unbelievable that Abe is already 1! I love Emina's family they are all so friendly and diverse, it was a treat.
As for Saturday evening we had a much needed Tessmer fix for dinner at the Duck, along with fireworks at the "big" Stanley home.
I can't believe I didn't take one picture the entire day of Saturday...wow!

Of course I didn't drop the ball when it came to today. With all we had to do to prepare for our short move to Colorado, we made sure we spent plenty of time with my family, which happen to be a BLAST!
My Aunt Karla decided to have a little family get together, since my Uncle and cousin were in town. Nate and I almost decided to for go the dinner, since we were swamped with things to do, but I'm so glad we changed our minds because it was such a good time.

My child tends to make her self at home at my Aunt's house, which everyone tends to do and I have to say that one day Nate and I hope to be able to supply that feeling to our family and friends as well.

My cousin Timmer (who will be starting medical school this fall), as all the patience for C, from bubbles to catching fireflies.

My Uncle Tim who really knows how to use the grill:)

And of course no BBQ in Iowa is complete without some good ol' Iowa sweet corn

Along with many other delicious eats, of course that is my cousin Al in the background filling up his plate...basically so he could dig into the ice cream cake later, without catching any flack.

Of course after dinner there was medical language being exchanged between family members

A quick golf cart ride with C's favorite people.

Big pieces of ice cream cake...it was a perfect dessert for the evening.

Good conversation among family members

A couple of games of this "game" that I wasn't so great at :)

And of course roman candles, provided by Alec of course. He now officially knows how to use them properly, without blowing any fingers off!

We even made it home, tucked C into bed and Nate was able to finish up all his packing.
This week will be the last week we are in Iowa for awile, but we are looking forward to all the new things we will get to experience in Colorado.
By the way I have to say, I know my family and friends are great, but I felt that a lot more this weekend then usual and I will miss them TONS!
Don't forget everyone we LOVE you all so much!
