Celebrating a weekend as a family of 3

We had another fun filled weekend in the Stanley family. However, it was a little different then our usual busy weekends, because this weekend it was all about spending time as a family.
Baby boy's due date is Friday...FRIDAY! Now I'm fully aware that he could come sooner or later which we are fine at this point with either way.
But knowing that this weekend could possibly be our last as a family of 3 Nate and I made the conscious decision to spend needed time together as well as with just each other. Even if he doesn't make his way till after next weekend I feel a lot better knowing we got that time together.
Here is a few phone photos of what we were up to.
On Thursday we spent the afternoon with my niece and since Kadence is on the cusp of teething clothes just seem to get wet so naked baby is much easier to wipe up:). Well of course C thought being naked was just to much fun for only Kadence to enjoy.
After Nate got off work we ate dinner together and headed home for some late night snacks.
But of course I can't forget one of the biggest moments of the week and that was as of Wednesday our little girl officially became a preschooler!
This is her first day of school picture!
I cried enough the day before so the day I dropped her off with her backpack and school supplies I was just over joyed that she was turning into such a fine little lady.

Friday I have no pictures of but I surprised Nate by getting my sister and mom to watch Cecelia overnight so that we could do a dinner and movie date and sleep in on Saturday. However, we made it through dinner and then after sitting there for a few hours eating and chatting and making predictions of our soon to be son we were both so stuffed and tired that our bed sounded like the best place to be. Of course we swung by McDonald's first for some mini rolo Mcflurrys.
We slept in until 9 and then made our way to Des Moines to pick up our girl.
We came home and hung out and then got ready for Grandma Stanley's 50th birthday party.
We all had a blast and got home around 10:00 pm which then Nate decided to set up a tent in the family room for him and C to camp under.
Since our room looks into the family room when I woke up early the next morning it brought the biggest smile to my face to see my loves snuggled up together.

Once they woke up we headed into town for some major errand running and of course some Dahls breakfast.
The best part of Sunday was that I truly  made an effort to not worry about how long it was taking us to get things done. I didn't rush the day away by hurrying. So we took our time and I didn't look at the clock until we got in the car to head home.

Once we were home I usually start freaking out that we need to get dinner done and projects finished and get C in the shower and bed. But we took our time we all lounged for a good 2 hours, slowly put our stuff away from the day and we didn't eat dinner until 8. We played with C outside, let her have a cherry coke at dinner and I don't think she crawled into bed until after 9. Nate and I soon followed into our own bed and for the first time I felt like we actually accomplished what we set out to do and that was just be together.

Of course the long day took a toll on our girl because this morning when Nate brought her into our room for our early morning cuddle she fell right back to sleep for another hour an a half. Mornings are one of my favorite parts of the day with my girl, especially when the sun is seeping through the blinds and her face still has that slight baby look to it when it's relaxed.

So now it's Monday the weekend is officially over and we have no plans until C's official birthday next Monday and to think we could possibly have a new addition by then is mind blowing.
So we are in the waiting addition of pregnancy as well as fielding the calls of "wheres baby" "whens baby coming" "Have you had the baby yet". However, it's all because people are so excited to meet this boy, so I have to remember that.
