I was going through my photo albums and came across these pictures of Cece that I never posted, of my girl from our vacation to South Carolina last year.
Those toothless smiles and freckled smattered cheeks. The half hazard pony tail and her little body being warmed by the sun. How a day at the beach has her falling asleep on the porch while we grilled dinner.
There was a time, not so long ago, that those freckles didn't run across her face. When her hair was just a fuzzy layer on her head. When that smile was tooth free and gummy.
This year Cece will turn 8, the following year 9 and so on.
I wonder if in the coming years if her freckles will spread or how she will look with braces. I try to imagine her with darker hair. To soon her tastes will start to change from little girl to pre-teen to teen and then adult.
I pray that I get the priveledge of witnessing all of it, every frustrating step of raising a daughter.
